We are currently using RH v8 on an HP DL740, we use v.8 so that we can
use the XFS file system, we have data files that are very large and
work better with an XFS file system. I'm developing an FTP server, and
an HTTP server (in the near future).

Does anyone know if there are any compatibility issues between RHEL 4
and v.8 ?? These servers would communicate using NFS.

thanks.....

Which is EOL and not supported on this machine.

What stops you from recompiling the RHEL 4 kernel with xfs
enabled?

BTW
Unsure what this has to do with security?
